Location is always one of the first things that comes to mind when buying a home. So why wouldn’t you think of that as well when making your vacation plans. Bend is definitely located in a great place with lots of sun in the High Dessert environment, but it is also close to a lot of other cool places in and out of Oregon.
Just a couple weeks ago a friend and I cruised over to Eugene, OR. Only 2 1/2 hours away from Bend it is a very scenicand beautiful drive along the Mckenzie
River and over the Cascade Mountain range. The road can get pretty bad in the winter time, but summer driving is great. We decided to go to the the football game at the University of Oregon at Autzum Stadium. The Oregon Ducks played the University of Utah, the Ducks won in stunning fashion which made it a great atmosphere. The tailgating before the game was a good time as well with a very festive vibe. Lots of barbecues and beers as we are all accustomed to in Oregon. Later we went out for some burgers and beers at one of the local campus pubs and called it a night.
With only a short drive home to Bend in the morning we still had the whole day to enjoy in the sun. We could have and you may choose to drive back to Bend after the game if you only visiting for a short time. But if you would like to experience a bit more of Oregon on your trip to Bend. Then check out the next Ducks game if you in town.
It’s that time of the year again for all of the you sports enthusiasts. As baseball get’s closer to playoff time and with College and Pro football just beginning, we have plenty to keep us occupied till the snow flies on Mt Bachelor. So if you don’t have the all sports pacakage at home and you want to catch the game in a awesome sports fan environment you have to head downtown. With good beer, food and all the games, Sidelines is the place to be. Sidelines is located right downtown on Wall St across the street from Bank Of America. This place has over 20 flat screen TVs, with plenty of seating to handle a good size crowd. The beer is great, with all of you local favorite flavors on tap at a good price. The thing I like most other than the great sports environment is the good bar food. I’m a meat eater and I appreciate a good burger, at Sidelines you won’t be disappointed. With several choices you can’t go wrong, big enough to fill you up with a big side of fries but not too tough on your wallet. So instead of missing the game and going hungry, get down to Sidelines and catch all the action.
